Faces of Health Care Reform: Kristine

Kristine’s husband and his business partner own a small machine shop in Milwaukee that their fathers started nearly 60 years ago. The company has traditionally been able to provide its employees with single and family health insurance, but rising costs have made it increasingly difficult, and they’ve had to modify the coverage they can provide. Last year, her husbands business paid $132000, for plan that requires a $2500 deductible. My story is certainly not a tragic one, its just a typical one, says Kristine, the problems faced by small business owners in this country. Organizing for America has collected hundreds of thousands of personal health care stories. The grassroots effort is building support in communities across the country for a plan that adheres to President Obamas three principles for reform: lowering costs, preserving patient choice and increasing access to quality care.

Soemthing does need to be done about it. We should be thankful that we have a president who is taking a risk to help us change our country and support him in defending our rights and needs. If you find out the history of health insurance and how it all got started you would know that it was all for our (the people) money. It’s one of the most profitable, money making busnesses. And that’s what you need to know.

Its situational application of the law, we pay for bogus insurance – Corporate crooks get rich, Progressive utilizes dumb caricature to sell worthless insurance policies. There is nothing funny about death and mangled bodies. Progressive is nothing more than a Ponzi Scheme in which Corporate Executives such as Glen Renwick get rich and leave injured policy holders bogus insurance policies which are not worth the paper they are written on. Thank you for sharing how small businesses are hurt by the lack of affordable, accessible health care. The voices of business need to be heard– this is a huge part of our economic woes. I applaude you!

  10. kukynphunt says:

No shit, however I also look at presidential cabinet/admin, their track records, and who they rub elbows with.

  11. japanesewinner says:

    i gave it 4 stars

  12. CHolmesJ14 says:

there is more you have to look at though. i understand where you are coming from, especially about bush but but there is more to it. people always just blame the president. but you need to look at congress as well because they have more power than the president and statisitcs will tell you that the economy went furthest downhill when the dems too over congress under bush’s administration. i am not saying george bush was not to blame, because he is, but he’s not the only one to blame.

  13. kukynphunt says:

I like Clinton too, and I am registered independent as well.
Towards the end of the reagan administration the stock market crashed after more or less 8 years, and here we are again after another 8 years of repubs with a colapsed economy, makes me wonder. Peace}:>

  14. CHolmesJ14 says:

it’s not my rating i was just pointing that out. i am an independent and so far the 2 main presidents i respect are reagan and clinton. however i hate conservatives and liberals.

  15. kukynphunt says:

I was waiting for you to rate the President of Black Monday, now maybe you will see the trend!

  16. CHolmesJ14 says:

i will agree with you 100% about how much money CEOs make because it is fucking ridiculous and they don’t even deserve a 50th of what they make. and i will also agree that bush was not a good president, however barney frank and chris dodd aren’t exactly innocent in the economic crisis. and so far obama has nearly doubled the deficit. and reaganomics must not have been too bad if reagan has been named as number 5 in the top 10 presidents the united states has ever had.

  17. kukynphunt says:

I beg to differ, it will spank insurance Ceo tyrants like Stephen Hemsley, who rip their customers off, his salary would probably pay for half this countries care. They are the ones who have inflated healthcare costs at the exspense of the workers bonuses.Chicken little the sky is not falling, may I remind you it was 8 years of Bushtard that fucked this economy, if a Republican gets into office, then yes they will find a way to bankrupt us, so they can implement reganomics trickle down bullshit.

  18. CHolmesJ14 says:

i agree with what obama is trying to do but this will not end up as an alternative. it will at first but then competition will cause the private sectors to go down and we will be stuck with the socialized healthcare whehter we want it or not. plus, the government has run medicare and social security into bankruptcy, i’ll be damned if the government runs the healthcare system.

  19. kukynphunt says:

If your mother is fortunate enough to be covered by an insurance company that wont find a way to weezle out of the bill, and drive up health care costs, then Kudos. The Obama plan is an alternative, if you get dropped by the private sector or excluded for a pre exsiting condition you have a place to go. We already have socialized health care in this country for people over 60, ask them if they want to give it up.
ERs have to eat a lot of costs & that’s another reason medical care is so high.

  20. CHolmesJ14 says:

under obama’s healthcare it’s all government related so technically the government could deny her care. thanks to the private sector, she will get treatment no matter what. you know why? because we all work hard so that we can afford good health insurance. so maybe you want to rely on government handouts but i don’t. and i’m sorry to hear about your father but you know what…fuck you too!

  21. jeffmagic32 says:

Government (from the President to the IRS clerk) is also driven by greed for money and power.

  22. kukynphunt says:

The problem with private health care insurance is greed..3.5 million a year for one CEO. I am not saying he doesn’t have the right to make money, but when I hear of all the devisive ways the insurance companies go about to drop coverage, well something is rotten in Denmark and our Goverment needs to put that corruption in check!

  23. jeffmagic32 says:

The problem with the health insurance companies is the government. We should have choices in a free marketplace, but instead we have a system where we aren’t allowed to shop in other states, we can’t select a plan that doesn’t cover regular doctor visits. More government intrusion will only make health care more expensive and less responsive to the will of the people.

  24. kukynphunt says:

That’s right! We lost are bonuses 10 years ago, because of the coast of health insurance.

  25. kukynphunt says:

I don’t think the fox news chanel is manipulated by him, you can always watch that as an alternative assclown
